Welcome to Rob Plato Photography. Rob Plato is a professional photographer based out of Fernie, British Columbia, Canada. He has been an avid outdoor and travel photographer for over a decade. In 2005 he attended a full time professional photography diploma program at "Focal Point" in Vancouver. After completing the program he now runs a photography program at "Baldface Cat Skiing" in Nelson, B.C. Canada in the winter months. He's busy shooting weddings, commercial, and outdoor/travel images the rest of the year. Rob's work has been published in various newspapers and magazines and he's done assignment work like shooting the "Whistler Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival" and catalogues for companies like "Jack Wolfskin" clothing. He is always shooting to build a stock base of images available for all uses and can be available on an assignment basis for commercial, editorial, event or of course outdoor assignments.

After shooting a day on the ski hill for White Lines Magazine I've been driving cat out at Powder Cowboy cat skiing near Fernie for a 10 day shift. I'm 7 days in. It's been allot of fun. It's great to see old friends and get back behind the wheel (though it's been tough to watch the skiers and riders ripping up some of the best conditions yet this winter). Four more day until it's my turn again. Eric Berger was out shooting with and for us this last tour.

What a night ! Thanks to all for making it happen this year. Look under the Fernie album in the more photos section of this site for the mogul smoker album. Prints are available of most images. Thanks again ! especially Jen for taking the bull by the horns and keeping it going ! And Reto for donating the use of the barn and land. Have fun out there, it's going to be another great ski season.
